COLOUR BELT TESTING (WHITE- BLACK STRIPE BELT)
Colour belt testing is held on the last Friday of every month. Junior testing begins at 5:30 sharp and adults at 7:00pm. Students must arrive on time and in full uniform, no t-shirts or socks are permitted.

Testing forms are given to students when the instructor believes they are ready to take the test. The form will not be accepted unless it is signed by the instructor.
The forms describe what they must demonstrate correctly to pass and obtain their next level. They must be handed in the day before the testing.
BLACK BELT TESTING
Black belt testing is held once every three to four months. Students must arrive on time and in full uniform, no t-shirts or socks are permitted. Forms must be handed in one week before! Once you pass, you will receive an embroidered black belt and Dan certificate, an international certificate from the World Taekwondo Headquarters and membership card. International certificates take 3-4 months to deliver.

Black Belt Seminar classes are designed to prepare black belt candidates for their testing and it is recommended that students attend. Check our events board for upcoming seminar dates. Similarly to colour belts, you will recieve an invitation and form to attend the test when the instructor feels you are ready.
The International Taekwondo Headquarters (Kukkiwon), along with the Ontario Taekwondo Association and Sport Canada, set minimum standards for Taekwondo enthusiasts to advance through the levels of black belt. Restrictions include time requirements between testings, age restrictions, and demonstration of an above average interest in the sport.
1st Poom/Dan – N/A
2nd Poom/Dan – 1 year black belt experience
3rd Poom/Dan – 2 years 2nd Dan experience
5th Dan – 4 years as 4th Dan, 25+
6th Dan – 5 years as 5th, 30+ years old, essay
